There are some trips you take for a few days, but remember for a lifetime. Our Goa trip with friends was one of those journeys.
We had planned to explore Goa, enjoy its famous beaches, discover beautiful places, take countless photographs and, most importantly, spend quality time together. But what made the trip truly special was not just the places we visited. It was the laughter, the random conversations, the unexpected moments, the photographs, the small mistakes and the feeling of simply being together.
Even today, whenever I remember that Goa trip, I smile.
We explored beaches, forts, colourful streets, markets, beautiful countryside roads and even took a trip to Divar Island. We stayed near Calangute Beach, but ironically, we made one decision that we still regret — we kept Calangute Beach for the last day.
And by then, we had very little time.
Looking back, that small mistake became one of the biggest lessons from our Goa trip.
Our Goa Trip: More Than Just a Holiday
Goa is often associated with beaches, parties and nightlife. But our experience showed us that there is much more to discover.
From the historic walls of Fort Aguada and Chapora Fort to the colourful streets of Fontainhas, from the lively Anjuna Flea Market to the peaceful beauty of Divar Island, every place gave us a different experience.
Our trip was not perfectly planned. We couldn’t visit everything, and we definitely didn’t shop as much as we wanted.
But perhaps that’s what made it feel real.
It was our journey — with our friends, our silly decisions, our photographs, our laughter and our unforgettable memories.
Tito’s Lane: Experiencing Goa’s Nightlife
Our Goa trip wasn’t only about beaches, forts and sightseeing. We also wanted to experience the lively nightlife that Goa is famous for, so we explored the Tito’s Lane area near Baga.
The atmosphere here was completely different from what we experienced during the daytime. The streets were lively, with restaurants, cafés, shops and nightlife spots attracting visitors. Walking around the area with friends, enjoying the energy and spending time together became another memorable part of our Goa journey.
For us, Tito’s Lane wasn’t just about nightlife. It was about experiencing another side of Goa with friends. After spending the day exploring beaches and forts, being together in this lively atmosphere gave us a completely different travel experience.
If you’re planning a Goa trip with friends and want to experience the energetic side of North Goa, you can include the Tito’s Lane and Baga area in your evening plans. Just remember to keep enough time for the places you want to explore, because our own trip taught us that trying to cover too many things at the last moment can mean missing out on experiences.

Baga Beach: Where Our Goa Adventure Began
Baga Beach was one of the first places we explored during our Goa trip.
The atmosphere was energetic and lively. We walked around the beach, enjoyed the surroundings and simply spent time together.
For us, the best part wasn’t doing something extraordinary. It was being there together.
Sometimes, travelling with friends means enjoying the simplest moments — walking beside the sea, talking about random things, taking photographs and laughing without any particular reason.
That is exactly what Baga Beach gave us.
Fort Aguada: A Different Side of Goa
After enjoying Goa’s beaches, we wanted to experience something historical, so we visited Fort Aguada.
The fort offered a completely different experience from the beaches. Standing there and looking around, we could feel the history of old Goa.
The views from the fort were also beautiful, making it another memorable stop on our journey.
Travelling with friends made the experience even better. We explored the place together, clicked photographs and enjoyed the view before moving on to our next destination.
Anjuna Beach & Anjuna Flea Market
Anjuna was another memorable stop on our Goa trip.
The beach had its own character, but what made this visit particularly interesting was the famous Anjuna Flea Market.
We wanted to shop, explore the stalls and take home something memorable from Goa.
The market had plenty to explore, and this was one of those places where we wished we had more time.
Looking back, I think we should have planned more time for shopping here.
Travelling often teaches you that time disappears much faster when you’re having fun.
Chapora Fort: A Place Full of Memories
Our next memorable destination was Chapora Fort.
The fort is famous for its scenic surroundings and beautiful views. Standing at the top and looking towards the landscape and sea was an experience we won’t forget.
Of course, we couldn’t leave without taking plenty of pictures.
With friends, every viewpoint becomes a photo opportunity!
We laughed, posed, explored the fort and captured moments that would later become some of our favourite memories from the trip.
Fontainhas: Our Most Colourful Photo Memories
Fontainhas was one of the places that surprised us the most.
The colourful houses, narrow streets and unique atmosphere made it completely different from the beaches and forts we had visited.
We spent time walking through the streets and clicking memorable pictures with our friends.
This was one of those places where we didn’t need a big activity or adventure. Simply walking around, discovering colourful corners and taking photographs was enough.
If you love photography, Fontainhas is definitely a place worth adding to your Goa itinerary.
For us, some of the best photographs from the entire trip were clicked here.
Vagator Beach: Beautiful, Peaceful and Photogenic
Vagator Beach was another highlight of our journey.
The beach had a beautiful atmosphere, and we loved spending time there with our friends.
After visiting several popular places, Vagator gave us another opportunity to slow down, enjoy the surroundings and capture more memories.
Goa has many beaches, and each one has its own personality. Vagator was definitely one of the beaches that stayed in our memories.
Parra Road: The Greenery We Didn’t Expect
One of the most beautiful experiences of our trip wasn’t actually a beach or a fort.
It was Parra Road.
The greenery around the road created a completely different picture of Goa.
We stopped to enjoy the surroundings and clicked some of our best greenery photographs there.
Sometimes the most beautiful travel memories happen unexpectedly — when you’re simply travelling from one destination to another.
Parra Road was one of those moments for us.
Divar Island: Exploring a Quieter Side of Goa
Our trip to Divar Island was another memorable experience.
Away from the busy tourist spots, the island offered us a chance to experience a quieter and more peaceful side of Goa.
The journey itself was part of the experience.
We explored, talked, took photographs and enjoyed the slower atmosphere.
Divar Island reminded us that Goa isn’t only about crowded beaches and nightlife. There are quieter places where you can simply enjoy the surroundings and spend time with your travel companions.
The One Mistake We Still Regret: Visiting Calangute Beach Last
There is one decision from our trip that we still talk about.
We were staying near Calangute Beach, but we decided to visit the beach on the last day.
We thought we would have enough time.
We were wrong.
By the time we finally went there, we had very little time left.
Calangute Beach turned out to be one of the places we enjoyed the most, and we also realised that it was a great place for shopping.
But because we had kept it for the last day, we couldn’t explore it properly or shop as much as we wanted.
We still regret that decision.
Our lesson for other Goa travellers:
Don’t keep a place you really want to explore for the last few hours of your trip.
If you’re staying near Calangute, explore the area early in your trip rather than thinking, “We’ll visit it later.”
Later sometimes never comes.
What Made Our Goa Trip Special?
The places were beautiful, but they weren’t the only reason this journey became unforgettable.
It was the people.
Travelling with friends creates a different kind of memory.
You wake up together, decide where to go, argue about where to eat, get confused about routes, take hundreds of photographs, laugh at silly things and sometimes make plans that don’t work.
Years later, you may forget the exact route you took.
You may forget the name of the restaurant.
You may even forget what you bought.
But you remember how you felt.
That’s what happened with our Goa trip.

Things We Learned From Our Goa Trip
Our trip also taught us a few practical lessons that can help other travellers.
1. Don’t leave popular places for the last day
Our Calangute experience taught us this perfectly. If there is somewhere you really want to explore, visit it early.
2. Keep enough time for shopping
If shopping is part of your Goa plan, don’t squeeze it between other attractions. Markets like Anjuna and shopping areas around popular beaches can easily take more time than expected.
3. Don’t plan every minute
A flexible itinerary gives you time to stop at beautiful places unexpectedly.
Our Parra Road & Vagator Beach experience is a perfect example.
4. Explore beyond the beaches
Goa has forts, heritage neighbourhoods, islands, markets and beautiful countryside roads. Don’t limit your trip to beaches alone.
5. Take photographs, but enjoy the moment too
We clicked countless pictures during our trip. Some became our favourite memories.
But the moments between those photographs were even more valuable.

Final Thoughts: A Journey We Will Never Forget
Our Goa trip wasn’t perfect.
We made mistakes.
We left some places for too late.
We didn’t get enough time for shopping.
We couldn’t explore everything we wanted.
But somehow, none of that matters when we look back.
What remains are the photographs, the laughter, the conversations, the beautiful views and the memories we created together.
From Baga Beach to Vagator, from Fort Aguada to Chapora Fort, from the colourful streets of Fontainhas to the greenery of Parra Road, every destination added another page to our story.
And Divar Island gave us another beautiful memory to carry home.
It was more than just a Goa holiday.
It was a journey with friends that I will remember for the rest of my life.
And whenever I remember that trip, I don’t think about what went wrong.
I simply smile.
Because some journeys don’t need to be perfect to become unforgettable.
They just need the right people beside you.
