Switzerland’s official currency. One US dollar is worth around 0.91 CHF. The Swiss franc is the official currency of Switzerland. It was introduced in 1850 to replace various local currencies. The symbol for the franc is “CHF” and it is subdivided into 100 centimes or rappen. The Swiss National Bank is responsible for issuing and regulating the currency. The exchange rate of the franc is determined by supply and demand in the foreign exchange market.
